Organizers will form as many Triples matches as possible and then Pairs matches to accommodate all who signed up. This format has the advantage of mixing 6 people into each game so that each member meets and plays with as many people as possible. Fewer rinks are taken up, making more rinks available for regular bowling members.
Bowlers will proceed to their assigned rink, flip for who bowls first, set the mat and bowl. At the end of each end, the mat will be placed where the jack was the previous end and play continues from there until 12 ends have been played.
The placement of the mat makes it possible to not have to use rakes to move bowls after each end because they're already presumabably near the jack. This speeds up play and helps prevent people from standing near the 2-meter mark area, allowing members and guests to use end rinks in the opposite direction without bowls hanging.
Social Bowls are put on regularly for club members. Oftentimes bowlers from other clubs have inquired about joining a social bowl. The club does allow nonmembers to join a social bowl as long as the following criteria are met:
They must:
Club members click here to sign up for social bowls. Then, simply go to the day tab for the Social bowl, type in your name and club number.
If you can't change the sign up sheet (it is View only), click here to request access to do so.
Teams will be determined by the Social Bowl organizer by the time you arrive at the club.
Social bowls have priority over free play and will utilize the green assigned for the day and all rinks, if needed.
The organizer will attempt to accommodate bowlers already occupying a rink. The organizer will likely ask those playing if they will be done by the time social bowls is scheduled to start.
If all rinks are needed, bowlers will be requested to move to the other green if it is available for play. Otherwise, they will be requested to complete play and vacate the green.
