Mary Thompson has offered to run special Practice Games starting Tuesday September 3rd at 9:00am for those new members who can attend. Everyone will pretty much be in the same boat as far as expertise and understanding of the game is concerned. You don't even have to sign up. Just show up at 8:45. The games will start at 9:00am and go to about 11:00am.
She'll also be running another one on Tuesday October 1st at the same time.
Note that the normal Tuesday morning social bowls will be going on at the same time.
All of the following coaches are available for training prospective, new, and current members in the sport of bowls on behalf of the Laguna Beach Lawn Bowling Club. Each instructor adheres to the LBLBC Coaching Session Planner which standardizes the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd new member lessons. The idea here is that it doesn't matter who is training you, if you're on your 2nd lesson, you'll be taught the same thing.
When you're at the club, take advantage of our "Coaches Corner" for the latest training material and information. (It's not really a corner. It's on the left as you walk into the clubhouse.)
Bowls' Etiquette, proudly observed and honored by lawn bowlers over time as the nwritten laws of the sport, is foundational to the game's legendary sociability. The canons of etiquette are a combination of good sportsmanship and good manners. They are not optional.
This page lists different types of lawn bowling training you can receive at LBLBC or at nearby clubs.
